All weekend Dalton and Jeremy spent time designing and putting together Dalton's car. They even took a couple of trips to Jeremy's office to use the tools there. It was fun to see them working on something together. This was the final product.
Last night was the night of the big race. Dalton's car had a very impressive showing. He came in 1st place on his first two heats. His car was the one to beat! Then he decided to add a little more graphite to the wheels like all the other boys were doing and we think by adding too much he slowed the car down a little because he only got 2nd place on the next two heats. He ended up taking 3rd overall. I think he was a little disappointed because, although he did great, I know after the first two rounds he was hoping for 1st. Jeremy talked to him and he felt better after they decided that they would make an even better one next year. I'm glad they enjoyed working together. It was a fun night! The kids loved seeing all the other cars and since the Activity Day girls were invited, there were a lot of "girly" cars there for Holly and Ally to enjoy as well. We will be looking forward to next year's pinewood derby!

Very, very cool car! And 3rd place is great! Our pinewood derby is in like February so we have a little waiting until Ethan gets to make his first car! I know he's excited about it. Great job to Dalton and great job for Jeremy because we know that Dad's help out a ton!
