Christmas Eve

Our tradition, along with many others of you, is to get new pajamas on Christmas Eve night. It is fun because the kids can't wait to be able to open a present early and then we all get dressed in our new pjs and we get things ready for Santa and then read 'Twas the Night Before Christmas and Luke 2. I love feeling all snuggly warm in new pajamas. We tried to take a picture of us all using the timer on the camera but a few heads got cut off. Well, you get the idea anyway!Another fun tradition on Christmas Eve came from Jeremy's family. We get together with his cousins on Christmas Eve for a traditional "Christmas Dinner" of ham and potatoes and then after dinner we play Christmas songs on the chimes. Apparently, before I joined the family, they used to sing Christmas carols but they decided they were not really a singing family and decided the chimes worked a little better for them. It has been such a fun extended family tradition. The grandkids really got into it this year. Dalton took his job very seriously and when it was his turn to hit his chime, he hit it with plenty of force. Holly needed a little help knowing when it was her turn but she did great. Ally had a chime that only played once in all the songs but she didn't let that stop her. She played her chime constantly, like a little metranome in the background. They all had great fun!
