Early on the 4th of July we headed up to Jeremy's parent's house to be there in time for the little parade that goes down the street near their house. We missed our little neighborhood breakfast which I would have liked to go to, but the kids were set on going to the parade. It is nothing fancy but they throw candy and all the kids love to run out and grab it. My kids simply enjoy the race as they don't really eat candy much. It has become a fun family tradition.
After the parade we spend the day at Grandma and Granpa's swimming, playing tennis and just having fun. We ended the evening with a BBQ and then we headed home for the fireworks.

The kids did not want to wait until it got dark to do the fireworks. He held them off with smoke bombs and snaps. We also didn't have enough sparklers to keep them happy but we promised them that we would do more on the 24th.
It was a fun day that the kids will remember fondly.
