Gotham Dream Car Sprint

Way back in June, for Father's Day, I gave Jeremy a voucher to go drive an exotic car in the Gotham Dream Car Sprint.  Here is the description from their website:

Free from the confines of speed limits and traffic, The Dream Car Sprint lets you drive your dream car the way it was meant to be driven. Our specially designed autocross courses are designed with fun and excitement in mind - enough twists and turns to keep you focused and enough open pavement to keep your heart racing at 8000 rpm.
After a safety briefing and vehicle overview, a professional instructor will guide you through the course, after which you’ll open it up for the thrill of a lifetime!
You’ll leave with a huge smile, photographs of your experience, and one less item on your automotive bucket list. Until of course, you come back for more!

When we went to sign up for a time slot, we discovered that the only time slots they had available were not until Oct.  So, we waited and waited.  Yesterday, the day finally came.  The sprint was being held in Tooele at the Miller Motorsports Park.  Jeremy got to choose between driving a Lamborghini or a Ferrari. 

He chose the Lamborghini.

 

He drove with an instructor who gave him basic instructions.  The car had paddle shifters which meant that he was shifting with paddles up behind the steering wheel and no clutch. 

Jeremy said, that the feeling as he was accelerating was incredible.  He couldn't believe the power the Lamborghini had.  It almost made him a little nervous.  I asked him how fast he went and he said he wasn't quite sure.  He thought he was going at least 150mph but he was going so fast that he didn't actually dare to look away from the track. 

I was so thrilled to see the look on his face when he was done.  He loved it!  He has loved exotic cars forever and gets so excited when he sees them on the road.  Seeing as how we will probably never be able to afford one ourselves, it was definitely a great experience!   I'm so glad he got to do it!
