St. George

We have been needing a vacation for awhile, so we decided to take a quick trip down to St. George for the weekend. Jeremy took Friday off and we headed down Thursday for a long weekend in the warm weather. It just happened that when we left it was snowing here so we were glad to be leaving. It was a pretty uneventful drive which means the kids did pretty well. We were lucky enough to be able to stay in a house belonging to my sister's in-laws. It was great! It had three bedrooms and plenty of space to spread out in. I loved that we had a kitchen so we didn't have to spend tons of money eating out every meal. It also had a small backyard where the kids loved to play.

Friday, we stopped by Jeremy's Snow grandparents. It was fun to surprise them because they didn't know we were coming. They loved seeing the kids and how much they had grown. Then we headed over to the park. The kids were just so excited to actually be outside playing. It was fun.
Then we headed home for lunch and a dip in the clubhouse pool. There was actually an indoor and outdoor pool so we jumped back and forth between the two. I think swimming was Dalton and Holly's favorite activity. After swimming we went home and played board games and croquet in the backyard. We had also brought the kids bikes and they spent a lot of time riding their bikes around the neighborhood. Jeremy and I played cards and laid out in the sun. That evening we went miniature golfing. I did much better than my last showing although I had to stop early to deal with a crying baby and a dirty diaper.

Saturday, we went to visit Jeremy's other grandparents, the Fry's and had a nice visit with them. The kids loved wandering around outside the house while we visited for awhile. After our visit we went home, had lunch and put Allison down for a nap. We skipped it the day before and it didn't seem to work to well so we made sure she got a nap on Saturday. The kids rode their bikes again for awhile and then Jeremy took them swimming while I sat with Allison. When she woke up, we walked over to the pool to catch up with Jeremy, Dalton and Holly. We swam for a little longer and then came home. We spent the rest of the afternoon hanging around the house, having dinner and playing in the yard. We thought about bowling but the kids were having a great time just playing so we decided to let things be. I did take Dalton and Holly back to the pool that evening for an hour before bedtime. They thought it was great and I sat and read my book while looking up periodically as the kids wanted to show me their tricks.

Sunday morning, we cleaned up, packed up and left. We wanted to stop and see my sister, Rachel on our way home but I left her phone number at home. We didn't have a phone where we were staying and when I tried to call my parents and sisters from one of the grandparent's houses, no one was home. Sorry we missed you, Rachel!
Anyway, we had a very relaxing, laid back vacation. It was needed because as soon as we got home we were thrown back into the stress that is our lives lately. We'll have to do it again sometime, maybe without the kids this time.

Sounds fun and warm! Let me know who Jeremy's Snow grandparents are. We are related to the Snow's from St George too.
